Abbreviated Minutes of December Meeting
Forty
members and guests attended the "Christmas" meeting on December 9th.
The program was presented by the
Lincolnview High School Choir Ensemble under the direction of Stacie Korte.
Following the program and lunch the
business meeting was conducted by Pres. Collins. A total of 10 new members were announced as well as two guests introduced.
Treas. Haller reported that we continue to be stable financially. As the Community Services Committee Chair
she also encouraged members to turn in any volunteer hours that had not yet been turned in for the 2010-2011 year.
Vice
President Gardner announced that he has been checking into O.P.E. as another avenue for active teachers to use to complement
their STRS retirement when that time comes. His plan is to meet with the teachers in the three schools in our county.
Webmaster Hurless commented on the site and Membership Chair Auld announced that we have 10 new members for 2012.
Discussion
was held concerning Sec. Turner's wishes to be relieved of her duties and R. Hurless stated that from her past experience
while serving as District 2 Director, she noticed that many chapters have as many as 3, or even 4, positions doing the work
that June does for us. The Treasurer and Membership Chair both volunteered to take on the part of the Secretary's
job that pertains to their position and June then agreed to continue on as the Secretary and will be responsible only for
those duties.
The officers for 2012 were installed by outgoing President Collins and are as follows:
President
- Randy Gardner
Vice President - Larry Taylor
Treasurer - Lois Haller
Secretary - June Turner
The Executive
Committee met following the meeting to discuss completion of the State Forms due in January.
Door prizes were awared
at the conclusion of the meeting and were provided by E. Gerdeman and J. Auld.
Donations for the YWCA Transitional Living
program were loaded for delivery following the meeting.
The next meeting will be Friday, April 13th.
